With COVID-19 giving us the real trick-or-treat scare last Halloween, most of our annual pumpkin-spiced fall festivities were begrudgingly swapped for (another) couch-side movie night, trading our usual rom-com for one of a much more sinister nature. This spooky season–with a lot of haunting to make up for–we will be able to once again frolic and run amok (see what we did there?) amongst the pumpkin patches and harvest moon.

So, in celebration, we have ensembled a comprehensive list of all things haunted, including events you might not see in your run-of-the-mill harvest guide, as we want you soaking up as much Halloween hoopla as humanly possible.

Enjoy, and go get your ghoul on, Memphis!

Haunted Attractions Worth the Drive

A Haunting in Holly Springs: Linden Hill Haunted House Tour-Less than an hour drive outside Memphis sits Holly Springs, a town that is home to one of the most well documented haunted houses in the country. It has been featured on Travel Channels “Haunted in the Heartland” and has been written about over 1300 times in various articles all over the country. Nearly 130 years ago, Beulah Cawthon was born in this house, and after her death in an Insane Asylum many years later, her spirit returned to the home, and has never left!  Come join the owners of the house on this one-hour tour and hear the history and legends associated with the house, along with the paranormal activity that has been experienced and recorded! It’s worth the drive for any haunted house connoisseur. Tours will be conducted multiple dates throughout October, and tickets can be found by visiting A Haunting in Holly Springs: Linden Hill Tickets, Multiple Dates | Eventbrite

In fact, the entire town of Holly Springs offers four ghost walking tours, each packed with the most famous ghost stories, local legends, and true tales of murder, death, plague and pestilence! The two-hour, 1.5 mile walking tours visit many of the most haunted homes, churches and museums in Holly Springs. There are also “City of the Dead” cemetery walking tours, and a brand new tour this year, the shorter, less intense “Terror on the Square” tour, with brand new stories of ghosts, murder and war designed for those who cannot walk our full tours or those with elderly guests and children. Holly Springs would make for a spooktacular weekend excursion! For information on all the hauntings Holly Springs offer, please visit 2021 Haunted Tours | Haunted Holly Springs
